Caroline Reiner-Williams is a versatile musician whose teaching experience encompasses all age groups and levels of advancement in diverse educational settings.
Ms. Reiner-Williams completed her bachelor’s degree in music by the age of 19, training under renowned performers and pedagogues such as the T’ang Quartet at Tanglewood and the Boston Trio at Killington Music Festival. Prior to accepting a full scholarship to pursue graduate studies at the Longy School of Music, Ms. Reiner-Williams toured Canada, England, France, Russia, Spain and Portugal as a member of several chamber ensembles, including the Boston Youth Symphony. At 21, Caroline received her master’s degree in cello performance with emphasis in string pedagogy.
Since then, Ms. Reiner-Williams has enjoyed a dynamic and diversified career as both performer and teacher. Her resume has grown to include a contracted seat as Associate Principal with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, and a variety of teaching positions. Ms. Reiner-Williams is currently on faculty at Brooks School in North Andover; Fay School in Southborough; the Notre Dame Academy in Worcester; and the Joy of Music Program, also of Worcester. For a third consecutive year in 2012, Ms. Reiner-Williams will serve as cello sectional coach for the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Orchestra. Active locally as a freelance and orchestral musician, Ms. Reiner-Williams performs throughout the year with the Worcester Chorus Festival Orchestra and the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra, with whom she has served as Assistant Principal from 2009.
Also in 2009, stemming from a deep love of chamber music, Caroline founded the Nashaway Trio with husband and violinist Angel Hernandez, and pianist Roy Imperio. The group gave its premiere performance in the spring of that year on the Beveridge Webster Recital Series in Hanover, NH, and has continued to perform together on a regular basis throughout the concert season.
Ms. Reiner-Williams offers private lessons from her studio at home in Worcester, near Highland Street between Becker and WPI, where she lives with her husband and son. The family cat, named Bear, doesn’t know he is not a dog (please don’t tell him!). For more information about lesson times and rates, please email creinerw@gmail.com.
